Somerset approves property tax rate; lower rate will not mean lower taxes, officials warn

Somerset City Council officially enacted a new property tax rate for the new fiscal year – one that is lower, but will not cause a sharp decrease in the amount of tax most people pay.

City Council voted Monday night in favor of the new tax rate of 12.8, or $0.128 per $100 of taxable property.
