The City of Martinez is moving forward with a number of construction projects, including significant improvements at the Martinez Fishing Pier. Completion of the pier is now anticipated in October, with the final timeline depending on the delivery of new light fixtures. A ribbon cutting ceremony is being planned to celebrate the reopening once work is finished.

Progress so far includes: • Electrical conduits have been installed beneath the decking to power both the pier lighting and the Department of Water Resources building. • A new aluminum walkway and bridge connecting the levee to the pier has been completed. • Site furnishings such as benches and tables have been delivered and will be installed as the project nears completion. • Fabrication and installation of new railings ar
