FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A long-time Valley non-profit that provides care to those suffering from terminal illness will soon have a new name.

"Hinds Hospice" will operate under the name of "Hinds LifeCare."

The non-profit says the new name reflects and honors the organization's core mission of hospice care while also recognizing the many other support services it provides.

Since 1981, Hinds has supported programs for grieving children and specialized care solutions for survivors of suicide.

All these programs will soon be operating under the Hinds LifeCare name.

The six-bed care facility in northwest Fresno will remain known as the Hospice Home.

The well-known Hinds Hospice Thrift Stores will be referred to simply as "Hinds Thrift."
