CHARLES TOWN - Friends, colleagues and former students filled a hall in downtown Charles Town to honor Doug Perks, Jefferson County’s beloved historian, as he marked his retirement from the Jefferson County Museum.

“Today we say thank you to a man who’s spent decades ensuring our history isn’t forgotten,” said Jefferson County Museum Director Lori Wysong.
