DITTMER, Mo. (First Alert 4) - According to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, the body of Stacy Jay-Malcom, who had been missing since her husband was found murdered in their Dittmer home on Aug. 30, has been discovered.

On Sept. 7, deputies say Jay-Malcom’s body was located in a wooded area on private property in the 8900 block of State Road WW. The Regional Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed her identity during an autopsy on Sept. 9.

Her disappearance came just days after investigators found her husband, Robert Malcom, dead in their home. Authorities ruled his death a homicide .

Deputies say no signs of trauma were found on Stacy Jay-Malcom’s body, but evidence points to a possible overdose. Investigators believe this was an isolated incident and say there is no ongoing threat
