JEFFERSON COUNTY — The woman who disappeared after her husband was shot to death in their Dittmer home late last month has been found dead in a wooded area, authorities said Tuesday.
The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office confirmed that the body is that of Stacy Jay-Malcom.
Her body was discovered Sunday in a wooded area on private property in the 8900 block of State Road WW. An autopsy Tuesday confirmed the identity.
Jay-Malcom, 56, had no obvious signs of trauma, authorities said. Her cause of death is still being investigated, but evidence suggests a possible drug overdose, the Sheriff's Office said. She had been missing since police found her husband dead Aug. 30 at their home in the 8000 block of Canyon Lane near Dittmer.
She is suspected of killing her husband, 60-year-old Robert
