Calling it a rapacious “tax grab,” the war on automated school-zone speed cameras just recruited a big booster in the battle against Big Brother by the name of Premier Doug Ford.

There may be no more need to wait for the next group of people with hacksaws to cut down photo speed cameras because Ford is calling for Toronto to pull them down immediately. Some 35 have been cut down already. And the premier says there should be no need to do any more and that they all should be removed once and for all.

“This is nothing but a tax grab,” the premier declared Tuesday following another night of cameras getting cut down. “I’m all about public safety. I’m against taxing the death out of people.”
