It was disappointing to see that Tim Kennedy recently visited Israel on a trip sponsored by the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, or AIPAC, the powerful lobby that has spent millions crushing progressive Democrats who dare to criticize Israeli policies.

Kennedy is strikingly out of touch with his party’s base when it comes to Israel. According to polls, only 8 percent of Democrats currently support Israel’s military action in Gaza. The International Criminal Court has issued arrest warrants for Israel’s top leaders. Human rights groups and genocide scholars say Israel is committing genocide in Gaza.
