The attorney for a woman accused of murder is asking for a change of venue, citing media coverage of the case.

The motion, which asks the court to move the trial to another county and choose a jury from its residents, cites articles covering a recent decision by Circuit Court Judge Michael West to suppress the statements Sayon Florence, 36, made to Port Huron Police Department Det. James Campbell during an interrogation on Feb. 12.

Vincent Buckles was fatally shot at his Vanness Street home Jan. 28. Dazman Drake is also charged in the slaying.
