Two sets of tall, double brass doors opened to the rustle of disposable shoe coverings and murmur of conversation.
“Well, welcome into the temple. It really is great to have you here,” said James R. Rasband, assistant executive director of the temple department for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
And with those words to a group gathered between the temple brass doors and a welcome desk, one of the first tours began of the Grand Junction Colorado Temple.
LONG-AWAITED OPENING
The Grand Junction temple will be the third in Colorado and the church's 210th temple. Worldwide, there are 382 LDS temples dedicated, in construction or announced.
