The Inland girls athlete of the week:

Name: Janiah Burrage

School: Rancho Christian

Sport: Volleyball

Year: Sophomore

Noteworthy: Burrage, a 6-foot-1 outside hitter, helped the Eagles capture the Division 2 championship at the prestigious Dave Mohs Tournament. Rancho Christian dropped its first pool-play match but bounced back with five straight wins, including a 25-21, 25-23 victory over Etiwanda in the Division 2 title match. The Eagles have now won three tournaments this season (also the Steel Town Classic and Las Vegas Classic). Burrage has been the team’s leading attacker and was chosen to the all-tournament team at all three of the aforementioned events. Rancho Christian opens Ivy League play at home Wednesday evening against Liberty .
