HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- The Houston Police Department said two of its patrol officers were injured in a crash Tuesday morning.

HPD said the incident happened at about 10:25 a.m. near 1700 Travis Street.

According to police, two HPD patrol officers were transporting a suspect when their patrol car was hit by another vehicle.

The suspect and both officers were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, the department said.

Police said the driver, who stayed at the scene, may have run a red light.

It's unclear if the officers had their emergency lights on at the time of the crash.
