ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Sandia National Labs plans to conduct a controlled explosives test on Thursday, September 11, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. The testing will occur on the south end of Kirtland Air Force Base, according to a release from Sandia Labs.

Some residents may hear explosions from the testing. Smoke and dust may be visible above the base following the test. Sandia Labs says the experiment supports Sandia's national security missions. The test is being held in accordance with permits for the test facilities. Testing times and dates are subject to change based on weather.
