A wolf captured in British Columbia and released in Colorado in January died after apparently being struck by a vehicle in northwest Colorado, according to U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service's investigation.

Male wolf 2507 was found dead May 31 and the federal agency determined the cause to be blunt force trauma sustained during a suspected vehicle collision, Colorado Parks and Wildlife stated in a brief news release Sept. 9. The agency stated in the release it had no further comment on the incident.
