On Saturday, Sept. 6, Dr. William Murdoch, 45, was released from the Monroe County Jail and extradited to Florida Saturday, Sept. 6, according to Port St. Lucie Police Department Officer Brittany Holly.

Holly said Murdoch has since made his $50,000 bond.

The Port St. Lucie Police Department began an undercover investigation into Murdoch in June 2025.

An undercover officer was posing as a woman with a child and talking to Murdock online. Police said Murdoch was allegedly trying to pursue a platonic relationship with the woman so he could have a sexual relationship with her child.

"During the course of the investigation, stomach churning messages were exchanged that entailed his plan to groom the child and quickly turn the situation sexual," the Port St. Lucie Police Department said in
