MIDDLETOWN — If you’re looking for a job or career change, you need to be at Laurel Ridge Community College on Thursday afternoon for The Employer Expo .
The annual hiring event that was first held last year is organized by the Frederick County Economic Development Authority (EDA) and sponsored by the Workforce Initiative Board , which is comprised of government, education and business leaders in Winchester and Frederick, Clarke, Warren and Shenandoah counties.
Frederick County EDA Business Retention Manager Shayla Rickard said 45 companies will be at the expo searching for new personnel. That’s fewer than the 70 to 80 businesses that traditionally participate in a sister Employer Expo each spring at Shenandoah University , but Rickard said that’s by design.
“It gives them spa
