Hendrick Health’s Surviving and Thriving After Stroke, a support group for stroke survivors, family members and caregivers, has expanded to Hendrick Medical Center Brownwood.

The support group, which has been offered at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene since 2014, provides education and social opportunities to inspire resilience through connection with others affected by stroke.

The first meeting in Brownwood is scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 18, from 5 – 6 p.m. in Hendrick Medical Plaza’s Education Classroom at 2371 Crockett Drive, Suite 100.

“Community-based stroke support groups serve as critical hubs for healing, hope and empowerment for survivors, families and caregivers,” said Kristin Tamminga, quality coordinator at Hendrick Medical Center Brownwood and support group coordinator
