(WFRV) - Preliminary enrollment estimates show increases at eight of the Universities of Wisconsin this fall, even as overall enrollment remained nearly unchanged from last year.
From a release, new freshman enrollment rose 3 percent statewide, nearly 900 more students, with eight universities reporting gains of at least 5 percent. In total, 164,340 students are enrolled this fall, down just 96 from the final 2024 count.
Universities of Wisconsin President Jay Rothman says he is seeing positive signs in trending numbers, crediting the programs like Direct Admit Wisconsin, which guarantees admission to qualified high school students, which covers tuition and fees for students from families earning less than $55,000.
