Less than two years on from a grim 2023 World Cup, the “ticker” shown by the Wallabies has fuelled a resurgence in the passion for Australian rugby, according to Rugby Australia chairman Daniel Herbert.
Herbert’s view came as the Wallabies prepare to meet Argentina in Sydney on Saturday, where they’ll be looking to claim consecutive victories over the Pumas after scoring a dramatic match-winning try in the 86th minute at the weekend in Townsville.
The second Pumas clash at Allianz Stadium is sold out, and it comes after two of three Lions Tests were also sold out. The one that wasn’t - the second Test at the MCG - drew a crowd of 90,304.
