MADISON (WKOW) -- City leaders introduced new initiatives Tuesday in an effort to create more opportunities for future housing developments.
The initiatives would allow property owners to add larger rental buildings to their property alongside their existing homes, among other "technical" changes.
Mayor Satya Rhodes-Conway said the initiatives will allow families to choose the housing that works for them as the city aims to add more living spaces in the coming years.
"The changes that we're introducing are largely technical, and they help to untangle regulations and to make our rules more straightforward and easier to follow. And when it makes sense and it helps to strengthen neighborhoods, the goal is for us to say yes to more housing in Madison," said Rhodes-Conway.
