DEVILS LAKE, N.D. — A Devils Lake police officer was injured Tuesday morning, Sept. 9, after barricading himself inside a home for several hours.

According to the Devils Lake Police Department, police were called to a residence in the 300 block of 15th Avenue Southeast in Devils Lake around 11 p.m. Monday for a report of a 911 hangup call.

After officers arrived, they began an investigation that led to a search warrant being obtained and executed, police said. The subject of the search warrant, an off-duty Devils Lake police officer, "barricaded himself inside the home with a weapon," police said.

Officers with the Devils Lake Police Department and Ramsey County Sheriff's Office negotiated with the off-duty officer for several hours, police said.
