AUBURN, Ala. (WRBL) – Investigators say they have direct evidence linking 28-year-old Harold Rashad Dabney III to the brutal killing of retired Auburn professor Dr. Julie Schnuelle at Kiesel Park. For now, those details remain vague. The first test of said evidence will come at Dabney’s October 8 preliminary hearing, where a judge will decide whether the case advances to a grand jury.

According to a deposition filed in Lee County Court, officers were called to 520 Chadwick Lane on the morning of September 6. Police found a 59-year-old woman’s body in a wooded area. The victim, later identified as Dr. Schnuelle, had injuries caused by an assault with a deadly weapon.
