The Chicago Cubs have placed outfielder Kyle Tucker on the injured list in a roster move Tuesday afternoon.

Tucker, who hasn’t played since September 2, was placed on the IL with a left calf strain, the team announced Tuesday.

In a corresponding move, the team has recalled catcher Moisés Ballesteros from Triple-A Iowa.

Tucker has missed the team’s last five games due to the injury. He would be eligible to come off the injured list before the end of the regular season, but no timeline was immediately available.

Tucker has slashed .270/.381/.472 in his first season with the Cubs, with 22 home runs and 73 RBI’s, along with 25 stolen bases.

Tucker is the second Cubs player to hit the IL in the last two days, with closer Daniel Palencia shelved with a shoulder injury.
