WEST HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — The city of West Haven is celebrating National Senior Center Month during September.
West Haven Mayor Dorinda Borer attended a game of Mixtape Match Bingo at the West Haven Senior Center. Borer issued a proclamation recognizing the benefits senior centers everywhere provide for older adults.
"We work on the whole body, we think about cognition, we think about physical wellbeing, we think about social, creative arts," Alyssa Maddern, West Haven's Director of Senior Services, said. "So, one example that we have is Tai Chi, we have Qigong, we have gentle flow yoga, we also have "nama-stay in my seat" chair yoga. So, we try to get the whole body so people can enjoy themselves every day."
