CROSS CITY, Fla. (WCJB) - Friends, family, and teammates are honoring Savannah Langford, 16, from Dixie County , after she died in a crash last week.
Purple was Langford’s favorite color, and on Tuesday, the stands at Dixie County Middle High School were filled with it.
Langford died last week when troopers say her car crashed into a semi-truck that was parked in the travel lane of U.S. Highway 19 in Levy County .
Questions still remain about why that truck was stopped there. While her family waits for answers, the community is turning grief into action.
Fizzy’s Soda owners added a purple drink to the menu, made with Sprite, grape syrup, cream, and whipped cream with sprinkles, in honor of Langford.
They call it the “Sweet Savannah,” and half of every cup sold goes straight to
