SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Western New England University has launched a Youth Mental Health First Aid training program at Springfield International Charter School, aimed at equipping staff with the skills to address mental health challenges among students.
The training, funded by an ARPA grant, involved about 100 support staff from the Springfield International Charter School. Participants were introduced to various scenarios related to mental health and substance use, providing them with practical tools to use both inside and outside the classroom.
