A Miami man has been arrested in an alleged "credit bust out" involving the fraudulent purchase of over a dozen vehicles and personal watercraft worth nearly $700,000, authorities said.

Cristian Machado, 31, was arrested Monday on 14 counts of grand theft, 14 counts of obtaining a vehicle by trick, and one count of organized fraud of $50,000 or more, records showed. Miami-Dade Corrections

According to an arrest report, the arrest was made following an investigation by the Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office Auto Theft Crimes Task Force.

The task force performed a records check that showed multiple vehicles registered to Machado that were financed through multiple lenders between June 4 and June 15, 2024, indicating a "credit bust out," the report said.
