ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) - As the Key City adds more amenities, the visitors follow. Abilene has seen a tourism boom, leading the entire state in hotel revenue growth, up 60.3% in the last quarter alone.

If you or a friend has tried to book a hotel last-minute in Abilene, you may have noticed how difficult it is to find a room. With rapid growth comes new challenges, and right now, it seems there’s no room left in the inn.

Owner of the Whitten Inn, Larry Whitten, has been in the hotel business for nearly 50 years and frequently makes phone calls to other Abilene hotels when they fill up.
