CONCORD, N.H. —
A battle over unlicensed homemade pickles in Manchester is moving to the New Hampshire State House.
The case of an unlicensed homemade pickler in Manchester who received a cease-and-desist notice is becoming a rallying cry in Concord.
"Pickles, right? It's been a big discussion in the state now for weeks," said state Sen. Dan Innis, R-Bradford.
Innis, who is also running for the Republican nomination for U.S. Senate, said he is filing legislation to prevent communities such as Manchester, which conduct their own inspections, from setting standards above and beyond state law.

"Let's help our small businesses, give them some more freedom, release some of the shackles," Innis said.
