The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said it is searching for a 69-year-old man who they say left his independent living facility on Jacksonville’s Westside around noon on Tuesday.

Police said Nick Hatfield was seen later in the day, around 2:30 p.m., near McDuff Avenue and Beaver Street and has not been seen since.

"Due to Mr. Hatfield’s age and cognitive issues, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is concerned about his safety," the agency said.

Hatfield is described as a white man with blue eyes and white hair. Police say he is about 5′11 and weighs around 140 pounds.

He was last seen wearing a navy blue shirt underneath a white tank top, light blue jeans with holes under the knees, black slides, and two hats (a Dodgers hat on top of an NRA hat).
