ROANE CO., Tenn. (WVLT) - A 17-year-old accused of murder appeared in Roane County Court on Tuesday. Riley Pawlick is accused of killing 18-year-old Holden Howse at a party in Harriman just over a week ago.

Pawlick has been charged with second-degree murder, aggravated assault and tampering with evidence.

Judge Dennis Humphrey called the charges very serious and said the incident was “catastrophic to everyone involved.” He ruled for Pawlick to stay in a detention facility while he waits for trial.

“The only thing that could have been worse is if there were more victims,” Humphrey said at the hearing.
