Police are investigating a hit-and-run crash involving a juvenile on a bicycle on Tuesday morning in West Hartford.

West Hartford Police and Fire Departments and EMS were dispatched to the area of Albany Avenue and Lindy Lane around 7:01 a.m. for a report of a bicyclist that had been struck by a vehicle, according to Capt. Aaron Vafiades of the West Hartford Police Department .

Vafiades said the bicyclist, a juvenile male, was alert and conscious at the scene. He was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

According to Vafiades, the vehicle that struck the bicyclist fled the scene heading east on Albany Avenue and was described as a dark-colored SUV or hatchback.

The West Hartford Police Department’s Traffic Division is investigating the incident.
