A former mayoral candidate are raising the possibility of voter fraud in the town of Fort Deposit in the recent municipal election.

Madelene Means filed a lawsuit to contest the election based on the high number of absentee ballots that were cast.

A total of 484 absentee votes were cast in the mayoral race.

And Means says data that shows more registered voters than adults in the town — is another red flag.

She’s calling on state officials to come in and investigate.

“My concern is that’s just a large of absentee ballots and absentee votes,” said Means.

“There’s all kinds of rumors out here, there’re all kinds of red flags. I want a fair, free election, period.”
