CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - Polls were set to close at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday for Charlotte’s 2025 municipal primary election.

By 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 9, polls throughout Charlotte would close -- though anyone in line to vote by 7:30 p.m. was still allowed to cast their ballot. Completed absentee ballots were required to be returned by 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Charlotte was the only city or town in Mecklenburg County holding a primary election on Sept. 9. Counties across the state will hold a general election for local races in their communities on Nov.
