WASHINGTON — The Old Line State is among America’s happiest, according to a new study.

Citing its low unemployment and relatively high average income, WalletHub’s rankings put Maryland at No.2, right after Hawaii.

The study cited Maryland’s unemployment rate, which is 3.2 percent, while the highest percentage of households earn more than $75,000.

According to WalletHub, residents also reported liking their jobs and are among the most motivated in the country.

Maryland also has one of the lowest suicide rates in the country.

Neighboring Virginia was ranked No. 15 by WalletHub, while West Virginia ranked last at No. 50.
