Every now and then, there are moments in the life of a newspaper that remind us why we do this work. Today is one of those moments. I’m thrilled to share that the National Newspaper Association (NNA) has honored Philadelphia Gay News with not one, not two, but 10 national journalism awards. This is recognition of the dedication, creativity and hard work of our entire team — and I couldn’t be prouder.
These awards hold special meaning. For nearly five decades, PGN has stood as an independent voice for our community, often telling stories no one else would cover. To have our work recognized on the national stage reaffirms that not only is LGBTQ journalism essential, but it also sets a high standard of quality. Our journalists, editors, photographers and contributors put their hearts into ev
