HELENA — There was plenty of movement this week in the 406 MT Sports high school football rankings , starting at the top.

Two classifications, 8-Man and 6-Man, have new No. 1 teams. Denton-Geyser-Stanford-Geraldine erased any doubt about who the favorite is in 6-Man, thanks to an 86-46 win over Chester-Joplin-Inverness, the previous No. 1 team.

There was a top-five matchup in 8-Man between Fort Benton and Belt. The Huskies have had the number of the Longhorns, with three consecutive wins by at least 30 points going into last Friday, yet Fort Benton came out on top, knocking off top-ranked Belt, thanks to a fourth-quarter touchdown and a go-ahead two-point conversion to give the Huskies their first regular-season loss since the first game of 2023.
