PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) - With flu season right around the corner, many people are trying to get their annual vaccines - but folks in Oregon say they have not been able to get the latest version of the COVID vaccine.

A lot of the frustration is from folks who are confused about the new Western Health Alliance - asking why Oregon health officials are still following federal guidelines when other western states like Washington and California are not.

If you cross the border into Washington or California, you can get a COVID vaccine without issue.

In Oregon, however, if you walk into a pharmacy for a vaccine, you will be told you need a prescription.
