PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. (ABC22/FOX44) - The North Country Chamber of Commerce announced Tuesday that Alstom has received an order for 200 train cars and 12 locomotives, all to be built at the company's plant north of Plattsburgh International Airport.

The contract is from New Jersey Transit, the third largest public transit operator in the country, which operates ten heavy rail lines that connect New Jersey with hubs in New York, Philadelphia, and Hoboken.

New Jersey Transit previously ordered almost a hundred train cars from the Alstom facility in Plattsburgh, and Garry Douglas, president of the Chamber of Commerce, said that the new order is proof of the quality of Plattsburgh manufacturing.
