(WFRV) - The Middlefield Original Cheese Co-Op, based in Ohio, is recalling several varieties of cheese that were distributed in Wisconsin. The recall is due to possible contamination with Listeria monocytogenes, a bacteria that can cause serious infections.
The affected cheeses include certain lots of Organic Gouda, Mozzarella/Provolone, Cheddar, Swiss, Pepper Jack, Monterey Jack, and Sunrise Creamery’s Dilly Pickle Monterey Jack. The products were sold between July 7 and August 14, 2025, through distributors, retail stores, and dining halls.
No illnesses have been reported, but Listeria can be dangerous for children, older adults, people with weakened immune systems, and pregnant women.
