WASHINGTON, Ind. (WEVV) — Nearly 300 employees at Perdue Farms are expected to face layoffs next month as the company plans to eliminate the second shift.

According to a WARN notice letter, the Washington facility informed all affected employees of their last work and separation dates. The layoffs are expected to be permanent.

Employees affected by the layoffs are expected to have their last work date on October 10th, with separation from employment occurring on November 2nd.

The letter explained that employees not terminated for cause or who do not leave voluntarily before their last work date will continue to receive pay and benefits through their separation date.
