Rep. Suhas Subramanyam (D-VA) took to CNN Tuesday to reveal that Monday’s bombshell drop of Jeffrey Epstein files was only the beginning — and taunted President Donald Trump that there would be many “more documents to come.”
“We're starting to get a better picture of what's going on, what happened with Jeffrey Epstein,” said Subramanyam, a member of the House Oversight Committee which was responsible for getting the recent batch of Epstein files released.
“We also already caught the president in a lie, really; the signature on there really matches the kind of signature he would have made back in that time. So the president has already been caught in a few lies related to this.”
The House Oversight Committee released a trove of files Monday related to Epstein, the disgraced financier who died in 2019 awaiting trial on sex-trafficking charges, some of which pointed to Trump as having a more intimate relationship with Epstein than previously known.
Notably, a letter Trump allegedly wrote to Epstein bearing his signature was among the released documents. Trump denies ever having written the letter, or that such a letter even existed; Subramanyam, however, argued the evidence flew in the face of Trump’s denial.
“I think now we're starting to see the motivation for why there's a cover up, why this administration is so reluctant to release files that we've been asking for, we've continued to push for,” he said.
“The other thing is, there are more documents to come. We're going to continue to push, because right now, the more we push, the more we find.”
Subramanyam went on to declare Monday’s file drop to be “only the first batch,” and said that lawyers for the House Oversight Committee were currently looking at more Epstein files in New York, with the ultimate goal of releasing them to the public.
“If there are Democrats in those documents, they should be released too, and they should be paying for their crimes as well,” Subramanyam continued.
“I don't care if it's a Democrat or Republican, and I don't care how high this goes, even if it goes all the way to the top to the president. We have to continue to name names, we have to continue to pursue justice because these victims never got the justice that they deserved.”
