YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) - Youngstown City Council's Safety Committee was briefed Tuesday on a proposal to bring cloud-based, cashless parking to downtown Youngstown.

All the parking meters were removed during the recent renovation. One city official said people are parking wherever they want -- for as long as they want -- and some enforcement is needed.

A representative from a company called Premium Parking explained what they could provide.

"We would strategically place signage every so many feet or so many sports with a QR code where customers could just come in and they could stop, take a picture of the QR code. It takes them to the site. They put in their driver's license number, pay, and they go about their way,"
