MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - Eight of the 13 schools in the Universities of Wisconsin system saw an enrollment increase compared to the fall of 2024, according to preliminary estimates. However, total enrollment decreased slightly across the whole system.
New freshman enrollment is up 3%. However, the Universities of Wisconsin system is seeing major declines in international students, and international enrollment could drop by as much as 15% across the U.S.
Enrollment for the fall of 2025 is 164,340, which is 96 students less than the fall of 2024.
These enrollment numbers are preliminary, and an official enrollment count will be released later this fall.
The preliminary headcount enrollments for fall 2025 are:
UW-Eau Claire: 9,498
UW-Green Bay: 11,500
UW-La Crosse: 10,627
UW-Madison: 51
