LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The grand reopening of the main branch of the Central Arkansas Library System was set back, library officials said.

CALS officials said the CALS Main Library will now reopen on Monday, Sept. 29, with a grand reopening celebration set for Saturday, Oct. 4.

Officials noted that the celebration will feature games, crafts, food trucks and music, including the return of the Six Bridges Book Festival.

The location closed to the public in September 2023, with construction continuing into 2025. Changes to the library include a video production studio, podcasting rooms, teaching kitchens, a rooftop patio and more.

The reopening was originally scheduled for Sept. 20.
