SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - This week, the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office made history by welcoming its first African American Chief Deputy, McArthur Holmes, in its 293-year history.
The Chatham County Sheriff’s Office is not only the oldest Sheriff’s Office in the State of Georgia, but also one of the oldest law enforcement agencies in the United States.
Just last month, CCSO made history as Major Nicole Scott-Bond was promoted to Lieutenant Colonel, becoming the highest-ranking female deputy in the agency’s history.
