APOPKA, Fla. – A lawsuit is challenging whether Apopka City Council member Nadia Anderson lived within city limits when she ran for office.
The suit, filed by Apopka resident William McLeod, asks a judge to determine whether Anderson met the city’s residency requirement to serve on the council.
Candidates must have lived within Apopka’s city limits for at least one year before qualifying.
Anderson responded in a text message, calling the lawsuit “without merit.”
She said she lived in the city for at least a year prior to her election and met all requirements to run.
News 6 reached out to the law firm representing McLeod as well as city officials for comment, but has not heard back.
