Despite carrying a two-run lead early in the contest, the Worcester Red Sox ended up on the losing end in Syracuse on Tuesday, falling 3-2 in their series opener with the Mets.
After a scoreless first two innings, the WooSox struck first. Seby Zavala brought in Corey Rosier with a triple, and soon after scored himself on a wild pitch to make it 2-0.
Syracuse however was quick to swing back, grabbing a run on a solo shot from Ryan Clifford in the bottom of the frame.
In the top of the fourth, Worcester was held scoreless by Luis Moreno and in the bottom half, Syracuse struck again. This time it was Jett Williams who sent one over the fence against starter Jose De Leon, this time to make the game 3-2.
