BC Wildfire Service (BCWS) has marked a 0.009 hectare wildfire east of Port Alberni, discovered Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2025.

As of Tuesday night the fire—described as Yellow Creek—is defined as out of control, meaning it is expected to grow beyond the current boundaries.

Wildfire fighters are responding, however no details on the response had been listed on the BC Wildfire map as of 8:20 p.m. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
