SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) -- A South Dakota native is getting ready to lead his team into the WNBA Playoffs.
Nate Tibbetts was once an all-conference basketball player at USD and a coach for the University of Sioux Falls and Sioux Falls Skyforce. He now finds himself looking to win a championship with the Phoenix Mercury.
After his playing days, Nate Tibbetts gained more than two decades of coaching experience. This included jobs in the college and NBA ranks before taking the head coaching job with the Phoenix Mercury after the 2023 season. This season, he's been happy with the team's performance.
